Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh
(formerly Christmas in April)
A Council Sponsored Community Service Project
This year's annual Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh took place on Saturday, April 30, 2011, throughout the city of Pittsburgh and the surrounding suburbs.
We are proud of the continued support from so many of our long time volunteers, along with new volunteers – you all make this project successful!
The carpenters continue to play a vital role in this event and we would like to express our many thanks to the journeymen and all of the apprentices who volunteered this year. Thank you!
Some photos from this year's event are posted below this article. Please vist the Rebuilding Together website for more information.

Many thanks to the Local Unions who responded to our annual picnic request for a charitable donation – this year's charity was Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh!

Rebuilding History and Background
Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh is a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping low-income elderly and disabled homeowners living in warmth, safety, independence, dignity and decency through home repair and rehabilitation volunteer services.
Each year volunteers repair dozens of individual homes to assist homeowners needing a helping hand. More than 1000 Pittsburghers come together to help their neighbors during the annual Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh campaign.
The organization has also helped repair senior centers, churches and other structures to make the buildings more accessible and comfortable for their users.
Corporations and individuals donate everything from money and materials to their valuable time to make Rebuilding Together one of the biggest events of its kind in Pittsburgh and around the United States.
Materials and supplies are provided by area residents and businesses. Historically, teams of volunteers have successfully completed repairs in just one day to make homes more comfortable and secure.
Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh began in 1992, (titled at that time Christmas in April) and annually makes repairs to more than 30 homes on Rebuilding Day along with special projects through out the year.
