"LABOR OF LOVE"
Members of Millmen’s Local 1160 are participating in the Allegheny County Labor Council’s “Labor of Love” toy drive. This unique toy drive helps Allegheny County’s Union members involved in labor disputes or experiencing hardships. Although Union members are the first to receive help, they are not the only ones whose children benefit from this amazing program. Over the past eleven years “Labor of Love” has been able to aid local communities’ needs as well. When tragedy has struck, threatening to ruin all hopes and dreams for a child’s Christmas, “Labor of Love” has come through with presents to save the day! Area institutions aiding children who are disadvantaged or abused are able to have Christmas presents for their young residents and participants due to the “Labor of Love” program. YOU can keep this worthwhile effort alive and make a positive impact in a child’s life. We need new toys for children ages 5-13 and/or monetary donation. Toys and/or monetary donations can be dropped off during regular business hours (9 am to 5 pm) at the Regional Council building main Lobby. All toy(s) must be new, in their original packaging and unwrapped. Monetary donations will be accepted in the form of a check and must be made payable to “Allegheny County Labor Council” with “Labor of Love” on the memo line. All gifts and/or donations must be received no later than December 16th for distribution the following week. It is the hope of disadvantaged children and families that there is room in your Holiday Sprit to help those who will not be having the kind of Christmas so many had hope for this year.
