Voice your support for Mag-Lev

The proposed Pennsylvania Maglev Project, is a high-speed magnetic levitation transportation system that extends from Pittsburgh International Airport to the Greensburg area with stations located at the Airport, Downtown Pittsburgh, Monroeville and in the Greensburg area. The system, which is approximately 54 miles in length, would take passengers from the Greensburg area to the Airport in approximately 35 minutes at speeds of up to 240 miles per hour.

This project is a public/private partnership between Port Authority of Allegheny County, MAGLEV, Inc., and the PA Department of Transportation in cooperation with the Federal Railroad Administration.

A new alignment for the proposed Project through the west suburbs was reviewed at a public meeting last month. Plans for the alternative alignment include enlarging the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad tunnel under Green Tree and boring a second tunnel to handle a dual guideway.
