Subject: UBC Industrial Scaffolding Pilot Class to Prepare Members to Work in Alberta, Canada

By early February 2010, 200 or more industrial scaffold builders from the United States will be needed in Alberta , Canada . Starting January 11, 2010, the Carpenters International Training Fund is holding six (6) UBC Industrial Scaffolding Pilot classes to prepare members for industrial scaffold work in Alberta , Canada . The pilot classes will be held at the UBC International Training Center in Las Vegas , Nevada . All members in this class must be journeyman scaffold builders with at least five (5) years of extensive experience building scaffolds in industrial facilities.

The class will be mostly hands-on and will focus on using Aluminum Tube & Wedge Clamp scaffolding and All-Around Ring System scaffolding. There will be a skill assessment on the last day of the class that must be passed in order to be placed on the list for work in Alberta .

Please NOTE: This special class is for journeymen with extensive industrial scaffolding experience, who are willing to work in Alberta , Canada . Besides completing the Industrial Scaffolding Qualification Pilot class, members must also:

1) Have a valid passport

2) Have a Notarized FBI background check (cannot have criminal record including DUI or outstanding child support payments)
